Is this a traditional sauna or an infrared sauna?
Traditional. It uses an electric Harvia heater and sauna stones to heat the air to around 185 degrees, the classic high-heat Finnish experience, and you can pour water over the stones for loyly. Infrared cabins run much cooler and heat your body directly instead. If you want authentic, hot, humidity-optional sauna, this is that.
What does a sauna session actually do?
Most people use it to relax and unwind. A hot session raises your heart rate and warms you through in a way that feels similar to gentle exercise, and many find the time afterward calming. Research on sauna suggests it may also support post-exercise recovery and healthy circulation. We keep our claims there; a sauna is a comfort and wellness ritual, not a medical treatment.
Does it really fit four people?
It seats four and is rated for four, but honestly, for a long, hot session most people find it most comfortable with one or two. The glass-forward design and bench height make it a beautiful, bright cabin that is roomy for a couple and workable for four shorter guests. If you specifically want commercial-grade room for four adults to lie down, a larger custom build is the better tool.
What electrical does it need?
The 6.0kW heater needs its own dedicated 220 to 240V, 30-amp hard-wired circuit with GFCI protection, installed by a licensed electrician. Many homes need an electrical check first, so confirm your panel can support it before ordering. This is standard for a traditional electric sauna.
Does it include the heater and stones, and can it go over carpet?
Yes, it includes the 6.0kW Harvia KIP heater and 40 pounds of stones. It uses your existing floor as the sauna floor, and carpet is not recommended; a sealed hard surface is best.
Is a sauna safe for everyone?
Traditional sauna is generally well tolerated by healthy adults, but the heat is a real cardiovascular load. Check with your doctor first if you have unstable heart disease, a recent heart attack, uncontrolled blood pressure or arrhythmia, or are pregnant. Hydrate before and after, avoid alcohol, start with shorter sessions, and step out if you feel lightheaded.
